Laser Therapy for Dogs and Cats in Manassas, VA

Dogs and cats tend to hide their pain. Yet, even if it isn’t obvious that something is wrong with them, their quality of life is still being affected. With pets, relieving pain is not always as simple as giving them medication and waiting for it to take effect. In some cases, additional care might be needed to give them the relief they really need. At Prince William Animal Hospital in Manassas, our team is proud to offer laser therapy for dogs and cats. This therapy can serve as a supplement to your pet’s current treatment, or it can be used as a standalone for an acute health problem.

How Does Laser Therapy Treatment Work?

How Does Laser Therapy Treatment Work?

A typical laser therapy session looks very simple: We take a hand-held device that emits light and gently circle it over the affected area(s) on your pet. But so much more is happening beneath the surface. At the cellular level, the infrared light penetrates the fur, skin, and muscle tissue to stimulate cell activity and repair. This process is called “photobiomodulation,” and it benefits dogs and cats in several ways.
